India Bike Week 2017: Indian Scout Bobber To Be Launched

- The Indian Scout Bobber will be launched at IBW Main Stage on November 24
- The Indian Scout Bobber gets minimal bodywork and a darker look
- The Scout Bobber retains the same engine but gets mechanical tweaks
Indian Motorcycle will be launching the 2018 Indian Scout Bobber in the country on November 24, 2017. The company has lined up the launch at India Bike Week 2017, and comes about four months after the motorcycle was originally revealed in July this year. The Scout Bobber, as the name suggests, is based on the Indian Scout that is already on sale in India but is stripped, darker version of the cruiser. The Bobber also gets minimal chrome for a radical new look. While the design comes from the Scout family, the Scout Bobber will also get certain mechanical tweaks. Expect prices to start around Rs. 16 lakh (ex-showroom) for the new motorcycle.
The 2018 Indian Scout Bobber gets minimal bodywork and a rugged look. The bike retains its retro lines, which in fact, pay homage to the stripped-down bikes from the post-war era of America. The chrome detailing has been replaced by blacked-out inserts across the bike. Other changes include new tracker-style handlebars, while the foot pegs have been pushed back by 38 mm for a more aggressive riding position. There are new blacked-out wheels that run on knobby tyres as well.

(The riding position is different with tighter footpegs and a lowered rear suspension)
The Indian Scout Bobber also comes with new black headlamp nacelle and vented exhaust shields. A black speedometer also makes it to the model along with shorter front and rear fenders. A single leather seat completes the Bobber look while the fuel tank sports new badging. Furthermore, the Scout Bobber gets new telescopic forks up front, while the rear suspension has been lowered by 25 mm.
Speaking of which, power on the Indian Scout Bobber comes from a 1131 cc twin-cylindder, liquid-cooled engine that produces about 99 bhp and 97.7 Nm of peak torque. The motor comes paired to a 6-speed gearbox and gets no changes over the standard Scout.
Indian dealers pan India have been accepting bookings for the Scout Bobber for a while now, and deliveries will commence soon after the IBW launch. Bookings are open for a token amount of Rs. 50,000.
