India's First Nissan High Performance Centre Inaugurated In Noida

- The centre will provide exclusive sales and service for the GT-R
- It gets special equipment imported from Japan for the Nissan GT-R
- Each member of the centre also received training in Japan
The NHPC is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment imported from Japan to service and repair the GT-R, Nissan's flagship supercar. This includes a dedicated service bay for the cars, wheel alignment machines, and the necessary tools and equipment to service the car's engines, transmissions, braking systems and performance optimisation. It even has a special nitrogen filling station to inflate the GT-R's tyres to match its dynamic suspension.
Hiroshi Tamura, Chief Product Specialist for the GT-R, said, "The Nissan GT-R is the ultimate symbol of Nissan driving pleasure and it requires the highest standards of service and care to deliver peak driving excitement. The staff at the NHPC in Noida have had rigorous training in Japan to provide the world-class level of service to GT-R customers. And I know the NHPC team shares the same passion and enthusiasm for the new 2017 GT-R as our customers here in India."
In addition to the special equipment at the NHPC for the GT-R, each member of the centre has been trained in Japan. Furthermore, mobile technicians, called "flying doctors", will be on call to make on-site visits to help GT-R owners anywhere in India. These highly-trained sports car mechanics will not identify technical problems faced by GT-R customers but also suggest the right course of action to remedy said issues.
2017 Nissan GT-R: The 'Godzilla' houses a V6 engine under the hood
The 2017 iteration of the Nissan GT-R was launched in India at Rs. 1.99 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi). It derives power from a twin-turbo 3.8-litre V6 engine developing 562bhp and a peak torque of 637Nm. The V6 engine comes mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox that allows the 'Godzilla' to dispatch the 0-100kmph run in under three seconds.
Interestingly, our dealership sources revealed a total of 10 units of the GT-R have been allotted for India for the current financial year. Our source adds that five units of the GT-R have been booked, out of which three have been delivered to customers. And if you were wondering, the delivery time for each car is six months.
