Kenya Police Adds Mahindra Scorpio Pik-Up In Its Fleet

- The Mahindra Scorpio Single-Cab is primarily offered as a CV.
- It is also offered as special application vehicle in some markets.
- Under the hood, it gets the same 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine.
The Kenya Police has added 100 units of the Mahindra Scorpio Single-Cab Pik-Up SUV in its fleet. Now in India we have seen the double-cab Mahindra Scorpio Getaway lifestyle pick-up SUV, but the Indian automaker offers the single cab unit as well in foreign markets. The Mahindra Scorpio Single-Cab is primarily offered as commercial vehicle and special application vehicles. The SUV supplied to the Kenya Police is the based on the current-generation Mahindra Scorpio Now speaking about design, it gets a bold radiator grille along with dual-beam headlights and integrated LED daytime running lights. The front bumper gets a chunky and muscular appearance with two neatly positioned rectangular fog lamps at both ends.

On the inside, the overall layout too is similar to the first-row of the current-generation Scorpio. Under the hood, the Mahindra Scorpio Single-Cab gets the same 2.2-litre, four-cylinder mHawk turbocharged diesel engine that works in the current Mahindra Scorpio as well. This engine churns out 118 bhp and 280 Nm of peak torque. Transmission duty is handled by a five-speed manual gearbox. While the Australian market-spec model gets AWD, it is not sure if the Kenya-spec model gets the same or not.

The Mahindra Scorpio Single-Cab gets the same 2.2-litre diesel engine.
Now Mahindra doesn't offer the Scorpio Single-Cab in India as it needs to be registered as a commercial vehicle. Mahindra is also planning to launch the new-generation Scorpio in India this year and likely will also introduce the Getaway lifestyle Pick-Up SUV at a later date.
