Earlier in the year, Mahindra had said that its all-electric eXUV300 would launch in the third or fourth quarter of the current financial year. Now the company has re-affirmed that it will launch its long-awaited all-electric SUV will launch in the first quarter of 2023. Mahindra had previously shown its all-electric subcompact SUV at the 2020 Auto Expo in the form of a pre-production concept.
The eXUV300 will be a part of a range of electric vehicles planned by Mahindra. The company had in 2021 announced that it would launch as many as 16 electric vehicles over the course of the next 7 years. These new models would include 8 electric SUVs and 8 light commercial vehicles. Mahindra recently also teased three new electric SUV concepts which are expected to make their debut later this year. Mahindra eXUV300 EV concept was previously showcased at the Auto Expo 2020
The eXUV300 concept from the 2022 Auto Expo showcased a near-production model with only a few cosmetic changes over the regular internal combustion-engined XUV300. The notable differences came courtesy of the closed-off grille and vents on the front bumper, blue highlights along the body, the lack of conventional outside rear-view mirrors and the unique design wheels and headlamp internals.
Going by the concept we can expect the production vehicle to get some cosmetic changes over the petrol and diesel model though some of the concept car-like elements of the 2022 show car will be replaced.
