Maruti Suzuki Hikes Car Prices in India by Up to Rs. 12000


According to the company's official statement, the carmaker has hiked the average ex-showroom prices across models, right from entry level hatchback Alto 800 to its premium crossover S-Cross. The price difference in these particular models will be between Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 4,000 said the company said in its statement.
Apart from that the company has also increased the price of its recently launched premium hatchback Baleno. According to Maruti's statement the Baleno prices across variants has gone up from Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 12,000.
Currently, MSI sells a range of vehicles starting from the entry level small car Alto 800 to the S-Cross with price ranging between Rs. 2.53 lakh and Rs. 13.74 lakh (all prices ex-showroom Delhi). Whereas the recently launched Baleno is priced between Rs. 4.99 lakh and Rs. 8.11 lakh (all prices ex-showroom Delhi).
But Maruti Suzuki India is not the only carmaker in town that has increased its prices. Japanese manufacturer, Honda Cars India has already increased prices of its vehicles across models by up to Rs. 10,000. On the other hand Czech carmaker Skoda has also increased prices of its model range by up to Rs. 33,000 from January 1. Toyota Kirloskar Motor also raised product prices by up to Rs. 31,500. Similarly, Tata Motors has hiked prices of its passenger vehicles by up to Rs. 20,000 from this month.
