Powering the AMG GT is a 4.0-litre twin turbo V8 engine that is available in two states of tunes - 456bhp (AMG GT) and 503bhp (AMG GT S). Mated to a 7-speed dual clutch Gertarg transmission, the AMG GT accelerates to 100kmph from standstill in 3.9 seconds, whereas the AMG GT S takes 3.7 seconds to do the same.
Though there is no clarity about the variant of the car that will come to India, we believe it might be the Mercedes-AMG GT Edition 1 that is based on the more powerful AMG GT S. The Edition 1 comes with an exclusive aerodynamic kit that includes blackened grille, mirrors, diffuser and tail-pipe, besides a front splitter, wheel archest, rear spoiler and a carbon-fiber roof.

The Mercedes-AMG GT Edition 1 model is expected to be priced over Rs. 2.25 crore (ex-showroom).
