- The Mercedes-Benz EQC will be launched in 2019
- It will be the first full electric SUV from Mercedes-Benz

Mercedes-Benz has teased the upcoming all-electric EQC SUV in a new video. The video showcases the production version of the EQC all-electric SUV wearing heavy camouflage undergoing winter testing in the arctic circle. The EQC SUV will be based on the Mercedes-Benz EQ Concept car that was originally showcased at the 2017 Frankfurt Auto Show and then again at the 2018 Indian Auto Expo. The EQC SUV will also be the first product offering by Mercedes-Benz under the new EQ sub brand that will only have all-electric models of cars on offer. The pictures here showcase the Mercedes-Benz EQC undergoing winter testing in northern Finland. The Mercedes-Benz EQC will also undergo testing in Southern Europe and in the United States as part of the new range of 500 tests that Mercedes-Benz will undertake on every new vehicle. The Mercedes-Benz EQC when launched, will go up against the likes of the newly launched Jaguar I-Pace, the upcoming Audi e-Tron SUV and of course, the Tesla Model X. However, just like the recently launched I-Pace, we expect the Mercedes-Benz EQC to be considerably cheaper than the Model X too.

Mercedes-Benz is also working on hybrid and electric versions of its other popular models in order to reduce carbon emissions and improve on fuel efficiency. The German automaker showcased a hybrid diesel version of the popular C-Class at the 2018 Geneva Auto Show along with a mild facelift. Other models that get hybrid drivetrains include the S-Class.
