Mercedes-Benz Reveals AMG versions of its EQE Saloon!

- Range topping model to make 678 bhp, 738 lb/ft.
- 0-100 kmph in 3.3 seconds
- 90.6 kWh battery, same as non-AMG EQE
We saw the AMG EQS toward the end of last year, and the EQE is only the second electric AMG model in Mercedes' portfolio. While the Mercedes-Benz AMG EQE 43 makes a comparatively humble 469 bhp, the EQE 53 will make 617 bhp and 701 lb/ft of torque! And if that doesn't sound bonkers enough, you can get it in a 'Dynamic Plus Package' which will unlock the complete 678 bhp and 738 lb/ft of torque, and this EQE 53+ will do a 0-100 kmph in just 3.3 seconds!
While the car's powertrain may not make the typical AMG sounds, the performance levels sure do sound AMG-like, and the instant torque delivered by the electric motors will surely make this EV utterly entertaining to drive.

This powertrain will be powered by the same 90.6 kWh battery from the non-AMG model and will be based on the same 'EVA2' platform. The EV will also feature a "Highly Resilient Thermal Concept", which will allow you to go crazy in this car until your cheeks start to hurt from smiling too much.
This performance will be backed by huge 415 mm brake discs up front and 378 mm discs at the back, and will get bigger ceramic brakes as an option. The Performance Sedan will also feature multiple drive modes that will change the amount of power available for easier drivability. The 'Slippery' mode will restrict the power output to 50% and 'comfort' mode to 80%, while the 'Sport' mode will up it to 90%. Only 'Sport +' and 'Race Start' mode will feature the entire power output, with the Race start mode coupled with the right settings can churn out a '110%' output for a limited time.

Interior of the AMG EQE featuring the 'Hyperscreen'
As for the interior, the cars will come with AMG seats, AMG Performance steering wheel, red stitching, and many AMG badges as standard, while the "hyperscreen", which is essentially a screen that runs the entire width of the dashboard, will be an option.
AMG's boss Philipp Schiemer has also confirmed that Mercedes will soon launch an AMG only EV, and we're really keen on how it will turn out!
