MV Agusta Launches India Operations With F3, F4 and Brutale 1090

Italian motorcycle marque, MV Agusta, today officially announced its entry into the India market. Though it has been quite a while since MV Agusta started accepting bookings in the country and deliveries have also begun, it is today that the iconic motorcycle manufacturer formally commences its India operations.

Italian motorcycle manufacturer MV Agusta, has officially entered the Indian superbike market on May 11, with the launch of three MV Agusta motorcycles. Initially, MV Agusta India will be selling the F3 800, F4 and the Brutale 1090. In India, MV Agusta has tied up with the the Kinetic Group, which will sell and provide after sales and service support to the MV Agusta brand under the Motoroyale name of dealerships. The first dedicated MV Agusta dealership has been opened in Pune, and five more dealerships will be inaugurated across the country.

MV Agusta already started accepting bookings in India over the past few months and deliveries have already begun.MV Agusta will also offer the F3 800 and F4 motorcycles in race-spec versions - the F4 RR, F4 RC and F3 800 RC. The lineup starts with the fully-faired MV Agusta F3 800 priced at Rs. 16.78 lakh for the standard version, while the F3 800 RC is priced at Rs. 19.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune). The litre-class naked street fighter MV Agusta Brutale 1090 is priced at Rs. 20.10 lakh, whereas the Brutale 1090 RR is priced at a whopping Rs. 24.78 lakh.

The top-of-the-line MV Agusta F4 with electronically adjustable suspension from Ohlins is priced at Rs. 26.87 lakh (all prices ex-showroom, Pune). At present, the Brutale 1090 and the F4 range are being sold in India as completely built units (CBU), while the F3 800 has taken the Semi Knocked Down kits (SKD) route. That said, the company has promised that it will soon bring Completely Knocked Down (CKD) kits and SKD kits for the entire range in due course of time. The bike maker also confirmed that the Brutale 800 will be arriving on Indian shores in the first quarter of 2017.

At the launch event, MV Agusta conveyed that the company has allocated 300 units of its motorcycles for the Indian market this year. Out of the 300, 50 per cent of the stock has been allotted for the F3, whereas the rest is divided between the Brutale and F4 models. Moreover, the company has announced that both the F4 and F3 will be available in the limited edition RC version that comes with AMG livery. While 10 units of the F3 RC has been assigned for the country, only 2 units of the F4 RC limited edition will make it to Indian shores. Only 200 units of the F4 RC have been built globally.

As for engine specifications, the MV Agusta F3 800 is powered by a 798cc, 3-cylinder, liquid cooled engine that makes 146bhp at 13,000 rpm and 88Nm at 10,600 rpm. The Brutale 1090 is powered by a 1078cc, four-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that delivers 144bhp of power at 10,300rpm and 112Nm of torque. As for MV Agusta F4, the litre-class performer is powered by a 998cc, four-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine delivering 195bhp of maximum power at 13,400rpm and 111Nm of peak torque at 9,600rpm. All bikes gets a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard.
