New Ford Figo Launched in Brazil; India Launch in 2015

Ford Brazil, that unveiled the new-gen Figo aka KA hatchback concept last year, has now launched the car in the South American country. The Ka hatchback has been made available in two trim levels - SE and SEL, priced at 35,390 BRL and 39,990 BRL respectively. The reason why it's an important news for us is because Ford will launch this hatchback in India as the new-generation Ford Figo.
Expected to be launched by early 2015 in India, the new-gen Figo will be one of the first products to be built at Ford's upcoming facility based in Sanand, Gujarat. The car looks largely similar to the concept model, except for the changes made to the grille. While the concept had chrome plated horizontal slats, the production version has a honeycomb grille. The head-lights also receive different mirror element, though the design remains unchanged.

Powering the hatchback is a naturally aspirated 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol mill that churns out 85bhp and 107Nm, while running on gasoline and ethanol. Transmitting power to the front wheels of the the car is a 5-speed manual gearbox. However, the car might continue with the existing engine options - 1.4-litre diesel and 1.2-litre petrol in India.
