New-Gen Ford Endeavour Teased Ahead of its Global Unveiling

Ahead of its global unveiling in China on 13th November, Ford has released the first teaser image of the next-generation Ford Endeavour aka Everest SUV. The SUV's hexagonal front grille and large headlights resemble that of the concept version, which was showcased at the 2014 Bangkok Motor Show.
Based on Ford's Edge design philosophy, the 2015 Endeavour will be more premium than its predecessor. However, what will add more to its off-roading capabilities is the new ladder frame chassis. With the aim to enhance drivability, the rear suspension's standard leaf spring setup has been replaced with a new independent coil-spring layout. Furthermore, its 'Terrain Response' four wheel drive system adjusts traction control, engine torque, four-wheel drive system and other components to help deliver better off-road performance in different driving conditions.
The cabin of the new Endeavour is expected to be inspired by the F-105 pickup truck; it will be equipped with Ford's SYNC2 multimedia setup and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
Internationally, Ford will introduce the 2015 Endeavour in two engine options - a 2.2-litre 4-cylinder diesel and a 3.2-litre 5-cylinder diesel engine. However, the Indian version of SUV will most likely get existing model's 2.5-litre and 3.0-litre diesel engines. For better fuel economy and cruising performance, Ford will replace the existing 5-speed manual and automatic gearbox with a 6-speed transmission.

Expected to be launched in 2015, the next-generation Ford Endeavour SUV will take on the likes of Hyundai Santa Fe, Ssangyong Rexton, Toyota Fortuner, Isuzu MU-7 and Honda CR-V. The new Endeavour is likely to be priced between Rs. 20 lakh to Rs. 25 lakh in India.
