New-Gen Mahindra Scorpio Getaway Pick-Up Spotted Testing In India

- The new Getaway pick-up will be based on the new-gen Scorpio SUV
- It will get similar exterior styling and cabin design
- The new-gen model in likely to get Mahindra's 2.2-litre mHawk motor
Like in the older model, the front portion of the new Mahindra Scorpio Getaway is largely identical to the regular Scorpio SUV. So, you'll get the same aggressive face with those wicked-looking projector headlamps, honeycomb pattern grille with chrome accented vertical tooth-like slats, and a beefy front bumper that houses the fog lamps and the wide rectangular central air dam. The alloy wheels are the same ones that we get in the outgoing Scorpio Getaway and the body colour ORVMs and door handles have been replaced with black ones.

The side profile gets a new integrated side step, while the rear portion of the new Scorpio Getaway comes with the same cargo deck from the outgoing Getaway. In fact, the UV gets the same vertical tail-lamps of the older model and not the clear lens units found on the third-gen Scorpio SUV. Although, we believe Mahindra might update them before the launch.

New Mahindra Scorpio Getaway Pick-up Rear
While we still don't have the images of the cabin, the interiors on the new Scorpio Getaway Pick-Up will remain identical to the current-gen Scorpio. Being a double cab, the new Getaway pick-up is expected to have a seating capacity of 5. Moreover, considering with all the new exterior styling, Mahindra might want to pitch the new Getaway pick-up in a slightly premium space. So the cabin might also come with similar interior features like the new dashboard layout, a new steering wheel, MID in the instrument cluster, and premium quality upholstery.
The rear portion of the pick-up was also sporting two new badges - mHawk and Mahindra pick-up. While we don't think the company will call the new Getaway the 'Mahindra Pick-Up' but it is indicated that under the hood, the SUV is likely to get the new 2.2-litre mHawk engine from the new Scorpio. In the regular Scorpio SUV, the 2179 cc oil burner makes 120bhp and develops 280Nm of peak torque. Transmission duties are handled by a 5-speed manual gearbox.
