Official Documentary On 7-Time World Champion Michael Schumacher To Debut On Netflix In September

- This is the first official documentary on the life of Michael Schumacher

For a while a documentary on modern F1 great, Michael Schumacher has been in the works. It was ready at the end of 2019 but was stuck in limbo as it awaited the approval of the Schumacher family and then the pandemic delayed it further. And now it has been announced that it is going to debut on Netflix on September 15.
"Racing driver, sports icon, legend. The first film supported by his family gives unique insights into the life of the seven-time Formula 1 world champion Michael Schumacher: SCHUMACHER. From September 15. Only on Netflix," posted Michael Schumacher's official Instagram page.
Of course, the legendary driver met with an unfortunate accident in December 2013 and since then has been assumed to be in a vegetative state being in a coma for the longest time after his skiing incident. This is the first time the members of the Schumacher family will speak about the legendary driver who continues to be in medical care and is assumed to be vegetative mostly.

His wife Corinna, son Mick and daughter Gina-Marie and father Rolf will be featured in the movie. Mick Schumacher, who is his son was skiing with him while the accident happened. In 2021, he followed his father's footsteps to become an F1 driver with Haas and has been performing valiantly in the slowest car on the grid.

"The film will portray Michael's incomparable career, but also show the many facets of a complex man. The merciless and daring Formula 1 driver, the ambitious athlete, the accomplished mechanic with a unique technical flair, the reliable team player and loving family man," is the description that's provided by B14 Film, the production company behind the documentary.
Netflix has a penchant for F1 documentaries. For the last three years, its Drive To Survive documentary on the behind the scenes happenings of F1 has helped grow the popularity of the sport. It released a documentary on Juan Manual Fangio and is also working on a mini-series based on the life of Ayrton Senna.
