The Thunderbird range is a popular and consistently selling motorcycle in the Royal Enfield line-up and the bike maker is all set to give its offering a major upgrade in 2018. While we've already shown you spy images of the special edition Thunderbird 500X with cosmetic upgrades, the latest spy shots reveal that a Thunderbird 350X is also slated for launch next year. The new X series Thunderbird motorcycles receive new colour scheme, blacked out engine and alloy wheels as part of the package. The new models are expected to entice a younger set of customers while retaining the retro touch.

Spy images from a dealership reveal the Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X with a white fuel tank and black painted frame and suspension. The engine and crankcase have also been given the black treatment and lend a nice contrast to the white paint scheme. The other shade available on the Thunderbird 350X will be red, while the 500X will be also offered in blue and yellow.

Coming to the changes, the Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X gets a new and shorter handlebar, blacked out headlamp with LED DRL. The taillight continues to be a LED unit as well. The split seats have also been swapped for a single seat, while the back rest has been given a miss in favour of well integrated grab rails for the pillion. The instrument console also gets a black finish. Lastly, the 9-spoke black alloy wheels look nice on the cruiser. The Thunderbird 350X will also get tubeless tyres.
That said, there will be no changes to the powertrain of the Thunderbird 350X. The bike will continue to use the same 350 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled motor tuned for 19.8 bhp at 5250 rpm and 28 Nm of peak torque at 4000 rpm. The motor is paired to a 5 speed gearbox. The suspension includes telescopic forks up front and dual shock absorbers at the rear, while braking system includes a front and rear disc brake setup.

The standard Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 is priced at Rs. 1.48 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and you can expect the 350X edition to be priced at a premium of Rs. 10,000-15,000 over the current asking price. The standard Thunderbird 500 meanwhile, is priced at Rs. 1.9 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). While Royal Enfield is yet to confirm the launch of the Thunderbird X series, dealers tell us that the bikes are expected to go on sale sometime in January next year.
