Simple Energy, a Bengaluru-based electric vehicle (EV) start-up has trademarked the name Simple One, for its flagship electric scooter, which will be launched on August 15, 2021. The new electric scooter has previously been codenamed Mark2, and will be the debut product in the electric two-wheeler space from the company. The Simple One name is also the first name trademarked by the company. The Simple One will be a high-speed premium electric scooter and will be positioned against the Ather 450X.

Simple Energy has trademarked the Simple One name for its first electric scooter, which will be launched on August 15, 2021
Speaking on this announcement, Suhas Rajkumar, Founder and CEO of Simple Energy said, "We are elated to announce the name of the first electric vehicle by Simple Energy. Although it was known as Mark2, the name Simple One will give the right essence from the brand and product perspective. The team is now gearing up for the launch."

The Simple One electric scooter will have a top speed of 100 kmph, with a claimed range of 240 km in Eco mode.
The Simple One will be launched simultaneously in Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad, followed by other cities in the coming months. The Simple One electric scooter is expected to be priced at between Rs. 1,10,000 to Rs. 1,20,000. The Simple One electric scooter will have a 4.8 kWh lithium-ion battery offering a claimed range of 240 km in Eco mode, one of the highest in the Indian electric two-wheeler space. Maximum speed will be around 100 kmph, with acceleration of 0 to 50 kmph in just 3.6 seconds. More details on the features and technology will be announced at the time of the launch.

In fact, Simple Energy's CEO Suhas Rajkumar has been candid in admitting that the brand's first electric scooter will have the Ather 450X as its primary competitor. The Simple One will also be cloud-connected, and come with a 7-inch touchscreen instrument console, Bluetooth connectivity, call receiving, as well as music playback features, all quite similar to what the Ather 450X currently offers.
