Simple Energy, a Bengaluru-based electric vehicle (EV) start-up has trademarked the name Simple One, for its flagship electric scooter, which will be launched on August 15, 2021. The new electric scooter has previously been codenamed Mark2, and will be the debut product in the electric two-wheeler space from the company. The Simple One name is also the first name trademarked by the company. The Simple One will be a high-speed premium electric scooter and will be positioned against the Ather 450X. The Simple One will be launched simultaneously in Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad, followed by other cities in the coming months. The Simple One electric scooter is expected to be priced at between Rs. 1,10,000 to Rs. 1,20,000. The Simple One electric scooter will have a 4.8 kWh lithium-ion battery offering a claimed range of 240 km in Eco mode, one of the highest in the Indian electric two-wheeler space. Maximum speed will be around 100 kmph, with acceleration of 0 to 50 kmph in just 3.6 seconds. More details on the features and technology will be announced at the time of the launch.
