Tata Motors Receives Orders For 1542 Sumo Golds from Police & Law Enforcement Agencies

Tata Motors today announced that it has received an order for 1542 SUMO GOLD utility vehicles from various Police & law enforcement agencies across the country. The Sumo Gold derives its power from a 3.0-litre diesel engine that is good 84bhp @3000rpm, and is claimed to return a fuel economy of about 15Km/l. The vehicle also has best-in-class ground clearance of 182mm.
Commenting on the orders, Mr. Vernon Noronha, Vice President, Defence & Government Business, Tata Motors said, "The Tata Sumo was conceived and designed keeping in mind the need for a rugged, comfortable and reliable vehicle that was powerful and versatile, with the ability to do almost everything with ease, including negotiate narrow city roads.
