The 2015 Range Rover Sport SVR is the Fastest SUV on the Nurburgring

The teaser videos before the Goodwood Festival of Speed confirmed that Land Rover had a winner on their hands. We had also heard the acoustics and drooled all over the sound this beast made. Yes, we are talking about the Range Rover Sport SVR and this time it decided to take on the Nurburgring.
Land Rover announced that the 2015 Range Rover Sport SVR is now the fastest SUV to lap the Nurburgring Nordschleife. The RR Sport SVR is Land Rover's most powerful production model ever. At its heart, beats a 5.0-litre V8 550bhp churning supercharged engine. No wonder it sprints like it is on steroids.
The SVR managed to lap the 'Ring in 8 minutes and 14 seconds, which makes it the fastest SUV in the world around the Nurburgring. The record-breaking attempt was established with a production-spec Range Rover Sport SVR driven by one of the company's test drivers.
The Range Rover Sport SVR is the first product developed by Jaguar Land Rover's newly established Special Operations division and will get a more aggressive body including a rear diffuser, larger air intakes and a mesh grille. The quad exhaust setup as well as a high-performance braking system and larger alloy wheels are additions that further enhance its performance.
The car will go on sale in 2015, so expect more details to pour out soon. We will obviously keep you updated, so stay tuned!
