Grand Prix World Championships are the prestigious motorbike racing competition that has been classified into multiple categories, with the premier class being termed as MotoGP since 2002. Before 2002 and before the four-stroke era began, the premier race was the 500 cc World Championships.
Giacomo Agostini
In a career spanning nearly two decades as an auto racer, Agostini was able to amass 122 Grand Prix wins and 15 World Championship titles, out of which 8 titles were accumulated in the 500cc class race—the MotoGP. As far as MotoGP is concerned, this Italian racer is still unbeaten despite retiring decades ago.

Valentino Rossi
Another Italian racer, Rossi, successfully secured seven titles in MotoGP, and he is touted as one of the most successful motorcycle racers of all time. He holds the record to be the only road racer having competed in 400 or more Grand Prix.

Marc Marquez
With six titles in the premier category of Grand Prix, this Spaniard is one of the four riders to have won world championships in three different categories. He is also the first rider in nearly forty years to have won the premier class title in his first season in 2013.

Mick Doohan
Fourth on the prestigious list is Mick Doohan from Australia, winning five consecutive 500cc world championships. A career marred with multiple injuries, he made a successful comeback in 1994 and continued his star-studded career for quite a few years.

Geoff Duke
One of the earliest racers, this Britisher still finds his way to the list of MotoGP winners, having amassed four titles in the 500cc World Championships. His legacy continues even after his passing away.

John Surtees
Another British legend in the world of auto racing, Surtees, had accumulated a total of four titles in MotoGP. To date, he is the only racer to have won World Championships in both Grand Prix and Formula One.
