- Here are a few tips on how to keep the windscreen clear and defogged
Monsoons are finally here and we can't wait to head out and enjoy the freshening weather after that scorching summer heat. But let's admit it, as much as we love being actually drenched in rain water and not sweat, monsoon comes with its own challenges especially when it comes to driving. No matter how calming that sound of rain drizzling and pouring on the windscreen is, the fun factor takes a back seat when the windscreen gets fogged and it ends up irking us off when we're behind the wheel. Well not anymore, we have got you some really easy tips to defog your car's windscreen without much hassle, so you can enjoy the monsoon without worrying about the hazy view through the windscreen.
Window Demister Mode
There is a windshield demister mode or switch on the HVAC or climate control system of your car.
Ever wondered what are those vents for on your car's dashboard close to the windscreen? Well many of you must be aware of it, but those who aren't, there is a windshield demister mode or switch on the HVAC or climate control system of your car. Switching to it will throw air through those vents on the windscreen and will help defog it.
AC Temperature
Adjust the AC temperature at around two degrees lower on the inside in a bid to maintain an even balance
Now generally fog settles on any glass surface only when it's moist and the temperature on the outside of the cabin doesn't match to the temperature on the inside. You can simply check the outside temp on the MID of your vehicle or get a google update on your phone, and then accordingly adjust the AC temperature at around two degrees lower on the inside in a bid to maintain an even balance. So let's say if outside temperature is showing 22 degrees, set the inside temperature at 20 degrees instead of going too low or high and that will do the job.
Tobacco
Tobacco might come handy for you in monsoons in cleaning the windscreen of your car.
Yes! While consuming tobacco will damage your health and should be definitely avoided, it has few other benefits. If you live in an area where it gets too sultry and your location records heavy rainfall, tobacco might come handy for you. Just take a handful of raw tobacco and rub it nicely on the windscreen, and then let it dry for around five minutes. It will deoxidise the screen and will streamline the flow of water so that it doesn't settle on the windscreen and you get a clear screen.
Wiper Blades
Wiper blades will come to your rescue when your windscreen is smudged and fogged.
It is very important to have proper wiper blades on your car that have enough slide and rub and the rubber part is not damaged. It not only helps when it's pouring, but also will come to your rescue when your windscreen is smudged and fogged.
Door Visors
Door visors helps in maintaining an even temperature level inside the cabin.
We all have seen those door visors installed close to the upper frame of the window line. Well, those are not just decorative and have a very useful functional. They allow you to slightly roll down your window when it's pouring without worrying about water flowing inside the cabin. It helps in maintaining an even temperature level inside the cabin.
