Top 5 Highlights: 2021 BMW X3 SportX Petrol

Earlier this year, BMW India added a new variant to the X3 lineup with the launch of the new BMW X3 xDrive 30i SportX petrol. It is the new entry-level variant of the existing BMW X3 and the SUV is locally assembled at BMW India's Chennai plant along with the existing variants in the range. With the addition of the SportX trim, BMW now offers two petrol and one diesel variant for the X3 SUV. Here are some of the major highlight of the 2021 BMW X3 SportX petrol variant.

At the rear, you see new LED expressive taillights, as BMW calls it
1. The BMW X3 SportX is the entry-level variant of the SUV and thus, it missed out on features like adaptive LED headlights, high-gloss black grille with chrome details, horizontal decorative elements in the outer air inlets and door sill finishers, among others that are offered with the Luxury Line trim. At the rear, you see new LED expressive taillights, as BMW calls it, and then there is the revised low-slung roof spoiler and exhaust on both sides.
2. Except for the Sensatec Instrument panel, most of the cabin features are standard. However, it does miss out on Harman Kardon Surround Sound system, wireless charging, and instead of BMW Live Cockpit Professional, the SportX trim comes with BMW Live Cockpit Plus, featuring an Analogue instrument cluster and a small touchscreen infotainment system.

3. However, the BMW Live Cockpit Plus offers an 8.8-inch touchscreen that supports 3D Navigation, BMW virtual assistant and parking assistant with a rearview camera. The car is also equipped with features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 5.1-inch digital instrument cluster with analogue dials and drive modes (ECO PRO, Comfort, Sport and Sport+) among others.

4. The BMW X3 continues to feature a rear window sunblind, a large panoramic sunroof, powered tailgate and ambient lighting with six dimmable light designs. It also offers a boot space of 550 litres which is extendable to a good 1600 litres with the option of 40/20/40 split-folding seats.

The BMW X3 xDrive30i can clock triple-digit speeds in 6.3 seconds.
5. The 2021 BMW X3 xDrive 30i petrol gets a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, motor that puts out 248 bhp at 5200 rpm and 350 Nm of peak torque at 1450 - 4800 rpm. The engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic steptronic transmission, along with hill-hold function and paddle shifters on the steering wheel.
