The introduction of BS-6 norms has ushered in a rising demand for these clean-fuel cars in India, with more and more manufacturers are stepping in to produce CNG cars.
There are tons of benefits to owning a car that runs on CNG. Besides amazing fuel efficiency, the factory-made ones also offer good performance. Here are the top vehicles that come in a CNG variant from the factory and are just as good as conventional fuel cars.
Maruti Suzuki Wagon R LXi 1.0 CNG
One cannot talk about CNG cars without bringing up the Wagon R. Although CNG is only available in the low-spec LXi, it is hugely popular with an ARAI reported mileage of 32.52 km/kg. Priced at ₹ 6.55 Lakh, this LXi 1.0 CNG variant comes with an engine putting out 58 bhp @ 5500 rpm and 78 Nm @ 3500 rpm of max power and max torque respectively.

Hyundai Aura S 1.2 CNG Petrol
If you are shopping for a CNG variant in a sedan, the Hyundai Aura is your best bet.However, the Aura does not have a full-CNG variant. Instead it has introduced a bi-fuel CNG petrol variant. This variant uses a 1.2-litre engine and includes 5-speed manual transmission.
It has a peak power of 68bhp@6000rpm, 95Nm torque and an ARAI reported mileage of 28 km/kg. With a price tag of Rs. 7.28 lakhs, Hyundai Aura is an exceptional choice.

Maruti Alto 800
Maruti Alto is one of the few to offer CNG in two variants – the low-end Maruti Alto 800 LXI S-CNG priced at ₹ 5.38 Lakh and the higher-end Maruti Alto 800 LXI Opt S-CNG at ₹ 5.45 lakh (on-road).
An excellent choice for a reasonable daily commute, these cars have an ARAI reported mileage of 31.59km/kg.

Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Magna 1.2 Kappa VTVT CNG
Hyundai launched the Grand i10 Nios in April 2020 and its CNG variant Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Magna 1.2 Kappa VTVT CNG is priced at ₹ 7.92 Lakh (on-road). It returns a certified mileage of 18.9 km/kg.
This Magna 1.2 Kappa VTVT CNG variant comes with an engine putting out 68 bhp @ 6000 rpm and 95 Nm @ 4000 rpm of max power and max torque respectively.
