VE Commercial Vehicles Total Sales Decline By 7.8% In March 2019

VE Commercial Vehicles, the joint venture between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors, today released its official sale numbers for the month of March 2019. Last month, the company's total sales stood at 8,676 units, compared to the 9,411 units sold by the company in March 2018, thus recording a decline of 7.8 per cent. Out of this, 8545 units came from Eicher Motors, while the remaining 131 units were a part of the Volvo Group. However, the company's total sales for the Financial Year 2018-19 (April 2018 to March 2019) stood at 72,969 vehicles, against the 65,932 units sold during the same period in FY 2017-18.
Eicher branded trucks & buses alone has recorded sales of 8,545 units in March 2019, as compared to 9,245 units in March 2018, registering a decline of 7.6 per cent. Whereas, Volvo Trucks has recorded sales of 131 units during the same month, as compared to 166 units sold in March 2018, a decline of 21.1 per cent.
As for the company's sales performance in the domestic market, Eicher Motors recorded sales of 7,329 units in March 2019, registering a growth of 8.2 per cent, as compared to 7,980 units sold during the same month in 2018. On the other hand, exports of Eicher branded trucks & buses have recorded sales of 1,216 units in March 2019, registering a growth of 3.9 per cent, against the 1,265 units during the same month last year.
