Highlights

Volkswagen has disclosed plans to show a radical Golf R 400 concept at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show. The Golf R 400 is an even more extreme concept version of the already powerful Golf R hatchback. The R400 concept will provide no less than 400bhp and 450Nm torques. However, the engine specifications are still to be revealed and we will know more soon.

The Volkswagen group says that the Golf R needs 4.9 to reach 100 km/h when equipped with the optional six-speed DSG, the Golf R 400 concept will do it in just 3.9 seconds. The top speed of the R400 is rated at 282km/h.

The Golf R 400 concept will wear a matching body kit with flared wheel arches, large alloys and a very muscular looking bumper.

This is all we can gauge from the sketches provided by the German automaker and we will have more information closer to the reveal of the car at Beijing.
