Xiaomi YU7 Electric SUV Covers Nearly 4,000 Km In 24-Hour Endurance Challenge

- YU7 has a range of up to 835 km
- Cover 3,944 km in 24-hour endurance run
- Recently launched in China
Having gone Nürburgring lap record hunting with the production-spec SU7 Ultra and the SU7 Ultra Prototype, Xiaomi has now looked to highlight its latest SUV, the YU7’s reliability. The electric SUV has been put through its paces in a high-speed endurance run that witnessed the EV cover 3,944 km in a 24-hour period. The test was conducted back in April 2025, though Xiaomi has only now made details of the test public.
Xiaomi said the YU7 was driven at speeds in excess of 210 kmph for a majority of the test, with the vehicle undergoing 30 charging and discharging cycles as it racked up the kilometres. The company added that each charging session lasts for between 10-12 minutes, which would equate to about 6 hours of total charging time throughout the run. Xiaomi has previously claimed that the YU7 features a 5.2C peak charging rate, allowing for the battery to go from 10 to 80 per cent in as little as 12 minutes, with a 15-minute charge adding over 600 km of range.
The YU7 was recently launched in Xiaomi’s home market of China, with the SUV first debuting late last year. The YU7 is the brand’s second all-electric vehicle, following the SU7, and is available with three powertrain options. In base spec, the SUV feature a rear-wheel drive powertrain pairing a 96.3 kWh battery with an electric motor pushing out 315 bhp of peak power and 528 Nm. Moving up the range to the Pro trim adds a front electric motor to the mix, upping the power and torque to 489 bhp and 690 Nm, though the battery size is unchanged. Range, however, does take a hit going from a claimed 835 km in base spec to 770 km.
In fully loaded Max trim, the YU7 gains a larger 101.7 kWh battery with the dual-motor powertrain uprated to belt out 681 bhp and 866 Nm. Range, interestingly, does not improve over lower variants despite the larger battery, with the Max offering a claimed range of up to 760 km.
