Renault teases new model, hints at doing a lap on the Nurburgring in under 8 minutes

A teaser image was revealed by Renault Sports announcing the French car makers plan to introduce a mysterious new model on June 16th.

Renault is playing their cards close to the chest but from what we can understand from all of this is that the company plans to bring out a car which will do a lap at the famed Nurburgring in less than eight minutes. The Porsche 918 Spyder has gone around the track in under 7 minutes so the car from Renault if compared to the likes of the 918, isn't going to be fast but it could be faster than the Seat Leon Cupra 280 which recently set a front-wheel drive record of 7 minutes and 58.4 seconds.

We cannot speculate on the car yet but we will get to know more soon. From the teaser image however we can see that the car will get the tyres from Michelin, suspension from Ohlins and an Akrapovic exhaust system.
