10 Best Selling Cars in India in 2015

1) Maruti Suzuki Alto:

The Maruti Suzuki Alto has been one of the most crucial cars in the automaker's Indian line-up. Simply for the reason that, for over a decade now, the Alto has managed to hold the best-selling car position in the Indian market. Following the legacy, the Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 has bagged the status for being this year's bestselling car with a total unit sales of 2,49,507 units in 2015.

2) Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire:

One cannot deny the fact that the Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire is truly the most popular compact sedan in the India. Especially when you know that Maruti has sold 2,19,248 lakh units of the car in 2015 making it's the second bestselling car in the country. Earlier this year the Dzire received its second facelift, making the car a little more stylish along with some new feature and improved fuel efficiency. Moreover the carmaker will soon launch the diesel AMT variant of the car making it the second compact sedan after the Tata Zest to have one.
3) Maruti Suzuki Swift:

Yet another car that has done wonders for Maruti Suzuki in the Indian automotive industry is the Swift hatchback. Truly one of the most popular compact hatchbacks to be sold in India, the Swift has been the top 3 bestselling cars list almost since its launch. With a total unit sales of 1,92, 376 the Maruti Suzuki Swift is currently the third bestselling car in the country and the bestselling compact hatchback in 2015.
4) Maruti Suzuki WagonR:

Now you truly shouldn't be surprised to see another Maruti Suzuki product in the fourth position as well, the company is in fact is the largest carmaker in the country. The fourth spot is bagged by Maruti Suzuki WagonR, which is one of the older models from the carmaker's line-up that still holds sway in the market. In 2015 Maruti Suzuki India sold a total of 1,55,754 units of the WagonR hatchback.
5) Hyundai Elite i20:

Launched in late 2014, the Hyundai Elite i20 was quite exceptional product in the premium hatchback segment. Earlier this year Hyundai even launched an updated version of the Elite i20 that came with a touchscreen infotainment system to compete with the new Honda Jazz and Maruti Suzuki Baleno. In 2015 Hyundai Motor India sold a total of 1,19,705 units of the Elite i20 putting it in the fifth bestselling cars position and the only other carmaker to be in top 5 list.

6) Hyundai Grandi10:

The Hyundai Grand i10 has been one of the closest competitors of the Maruti Suzuki Swift and a constant part of the top 10 bestselling cars list. This year Hyundai India has sold a total of 1,11,306 units of the Grand i10, bagging it the sixth position for in the 2015 list. This is quite surprising considering the fact that for quite some time now Hyundai has hardly made any changes to car and it still continues to be a favourite among Indian car buyers.
7) Mahindra Bolero:

The only SUV to be in the top 10 bestselling cars list, the Mahindra Bolero has surprisingly held its position as the top selling SUV in the country for nearly a decade now. The Mahindra Bolero has more demand in the commercial and fleet market rather than private vehicle segment, but that doesn't rule out the fact that Bolero is in fact the seventh bestselling car in the country. In 2015 Mahindra and Mahindra has sold a total of 80,914 units of the Bolero SUV.
8) Honda City:

Similar to the Mahindra Bolero, the Honda City is the only sedan to be in this top 10 bestselling cars list. The car has been in the key player in the segment ever since its launch and despite of going through three different facelifts, the Honda City continues to remain the bestselling sedan in the country. With a total unit sales of 76,546 in 2015 the fourth generation Honda City is currently the eights bestselling car in the country.
9) Maruti Suzuki Celerio:

When Maruti Suzuki launched the Celerio hatchback in the country, it creates a revolution in the entry level car segment with its AMT gearbox. Later this year the carmaker launched the diesel version of the Maruti Suzuki Celerio, which turned out to offer another first in segment feature for being the lightest diesel engine in the country. In 2015 Maruti sold a total of 74,842 units of the Celerio hatchback bagging it the ninth position.

10) Maruti Suzuki Omni:

Now, the fact that this car is in the top 10 bestselling cars list is in itself a very commendable. This is for simple fact that the Maruti Suzuki Omni is the oldest model from the Indo-Japanese carmaker's line up that is still sold in India. Currently the Omni majorly caters to the commercial and fleet market, despite of which the carmaker has sold a total of 72,778 units of the minivan bringing it to the tenth spot in the list.
