- The 2019 Camaro will go on sale in the US in the next few months
- Chevy has introduced an all-new 1LE performance model of the Camaro
- The new Camaro gets a lot of design and feature upgrades
Chevrolet has finally revealed the 2019 Camaro line-up in USA. The Chevy Camaro has been one of the most iconic muscle cars to have been sold in the US and three years after the sixth generation model, Chevy introduced the updated models. The 2019 Camaro will be offered in four variants, which are the LS, LT, RS, SS and the ZL1 model. The RS is the convertible option, should you wish to feel the wind in your hair on the Camaro. Chevy has also introduced the Turbo 1LE performance variant of the Camaro which is brand new and Chevy says is a lot of fun.
(2019 Chevrolet Camaro RS)As far as the looks are concerned, all variants get a different and distinct design up front which is more aggressive and offers better performance in terms of increased air flow and minimise drag and lift. The headlamp cluster has been re-designed along with the grille as well. The rear too gets a re-design with the LED tail lamps being new and the rear bumper too. The RS and SS variants get newly designed alloy wheels as well.
As far as equipment is concerned, the SS variant gets a new 10L80 10-speed automatic transmission and launch control with line-lock (for all the hooligans) along with other models getting the new infotainment systems with navigation, H-D reverse parking camera and forward collision alert along with updated performance data recording systems.
(2019 Chevrolet Camaro SS)Coming to the new Turbo 1LE model, it is a track ready car and features a new 2.0-litre turbocharged engine making 275 bhp and 400 Nm of peak torque. It also features an updated chassis package which includes larger diameter stabiliser bars at both ends, specially tuned dampers, stiffer rear bushings and cross-axis ball joints, which the company says, increases the lateral stiffness. Plus the car gets Brembo brake package with low-metallic performance pad. With a 50/50 weight balance, Chevy is confident that this will be the perfect Camaro to take on to a racetrack.
