2021 Hyundai i20 N Line Unveil Date Confirmed

- The Hyundai i20 N Line will be the first N Line model coming to India

Hyundai Motor India recently announced that it plans to launch the performance-oriented N Line range of cars in India. The i20 N Line will be Hyundai's first N Line to go on sale in India, which is scheduled to be unveiled on August 24, 2021. With an official debut slated to happen next week, we can expect the performance model to go on sale in the next few weeks. The South Korean has already confirmed that it will introduce more N Line models in India over the next few years. It will be positioned above the regular i20 premium hatchback.

As per the previously leaked document, the Hyundai i20 N Line will come in three variants - N6 iMT, N8 iMT, and N8 DCT, wherein the former will be based on the Asta trim and the latter two on the Asta (O).

The Hyundai i20 N Line models will be powered by the 1.0-litre GDi turbocharged petrol engine
Visually, the upcoming i20 N Line is expected to be slightly different compared to the global-spec model. Based on the teasers shared by the automaker, the car will get a new cascading grille with matte black elements and the N Line logo. The aesthetics will be underlined by a new, more muscular front bumper featuring sharp lines and edges, giving it a sporty look. It is likely to get sportier alloy wheels and an updated cabin with N Line themed styling.
Dimension-wise, the i20 N Line will remain identical to the regular i20. The overall length remains at 3995 mm, a width of 1775 mm, and a height of 1505 mm. The wheelbase of the car will stand unchanged at 2580 mm.

The cabin of the Hyundai i20 N Line is likely to be in line with the turbo-petrol variants of the regular i20. It will get prominent N badging, sportier front seats with red highlights, aluminium pedals, an N-branded gear knob and more.
The Hyundai i20 N Line will be powered by the 1.0-litre GDi turbocharged petrol engine, which also powers the existing i20 hatchback. The motor is tuned to make 118 bhp at 6000 rpm and 172 Nm at 1 500 - 4 000 rpm. The power figures are expected to remain unchanged on the i20 N Line. Transmission options will include a 6-speed Intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT) and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) unit.
