2021 Hyundai i20 N Line Variant Details And Specification Leaked Ahead Of Launch

Hyundai Motor India recently announced its plan to launch the performance-oriented N Line range of models in the country. In fact, the first N Line model will be launched this year itself, and as we have been mentioning in our earlier reports, the car will be the Hyundai i20 N Line. Now, ahead of its official launch, some transport department documents have leaked online revealing the variant details, dimensions, and engine specifications of the upcoming i20 N Line model. Judging by the leaked documents, the car will be offered in three variants - N6 iMT, N8 iMT, and N8 DCT - the former based on the Asta trim and the latter two on the Asta (O).

The Hyundai i20 N Line models are expected to be based on the Asta and Asta (O) trims
The Hyundai i20 N Line models will be powered by the 1.0-litre GDi turbocharged petrol engine, which is already offered with the existing i20. The 998 cc, the three-cylinder motor will continue to offer the same 118 bhp at 6000 rpm and the torque output is also expected to remain unchanged at 172 Nm at 1 500 - 4 000 rpm. Transmission options will include a 6-speed Intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT) and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) unit.

The upcoming i20 N Line models will remain identical to the regular i20 in terms of dimensions
In terms of dimensions, the upcoming i20 N Line models will remain identical to the regular i20, with the total length standing at 3995 mm, a width of 1775 mm, and a height of 1505 mm. The wheelbase of the car will also remain unchanged at 2580 mm. The car's Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) stands at 1460 kg for the N6 iMT and N8 iMT, while the top-spec N8 DCT trim will tip the scales at 1480 kg.

The Hyundai i20 N Line models will be powered by the 1.0-litre GDi turbocharged petrol engine
Visually, the car is expected to be slightly different compared to the model sold globally, however, based on the teaser released by the carmaker, we know it will get a new cascading grille with matte black elements and the N Line logo. The i20 N Line will also come with a new, more muscular front bumper, featuring sharp lines and edges that give its sporty look. The car is also likely to come with new sportier alloy wheels and an updated cabin with N Line themed styling.
