2022 Audi A8, Audi S8 Receive Cosmetic Tweaks, Add New Features

Audi USA has spruced up its Audi A8 and Audi S8 flagship four-doors for 2022, making them even more appealing than before. The 2022 Audi A8 and the 2022 Audi S8, both receive mild cosmetic updates, and an enhanced list of features, while retaining the same engine with unchanged output figures under the hood. The brand with the four rings is also offering its flagship saloons, with new standalone packages that would help the buyer customise it according to his/her needs. With the comprehensive assistance functionality, the 2022 Audi A8 and the 2022 Audi S8 provide added confidence, setting a benchmark for the brand and the segment.

The refreshed Audi A8 receives several visual updates, such as a wider single-frame grille, special air intakes on the front fascia, dressed up with distinctive blades, LED headlamps, customisable OLED taillights, and a new rear diffuser insert. Additionally, the S Line exterior package now comes as a standard fitment. The 2022 Audi S8 performance sedan can be identified by its signature four flow-optimised tailpipes, and a wider single-frame grille adorned from top to bottom with chrome angles. An additional Black Optic Plus package is offered with black mirrors, badges, rings, and black 21-inch wheels. The visual updates, no matter how minimal they are, have made both the flagship saloons even more attractive than before.

A dash of Dynamica is added to the door panels, interior pillar trim as well as roof lining. There is also a four-seat rear comfort package, including a rear full-length centre console offering fold-out wing tables and an integrated digital remote to control the lighting and seating preferences.
Then you get the two MMI touchscreens, of which the larger 10.1-inch screen controls the infotainment and navigation functionalities, while the second 8.6-inch screen below controls the four-zone automatic climate system as well as comfort operations like massaging, ventilation, and seat heating. Under the hood, the A8 L 55 continues to feature a turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 that develops 340 bhp and 500 Nm of torque, coupled to an 8-speed automatic transmission and a standard Quattro all-wheel-drive system. This setup accelerates from 0-100 kmph in 5.6 seconds, before hitting an electronically limited top speed of 209 kmph. The 2022 Audi S8 gets a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine that develops 563 bhp and 800 Nm of peak torque, which catapults the high-performance version from standstill to 100 kmph in 3.8 seconds.
