- Octavia RS gets a 261 bhp 2.0 litre turbo petrol engine

Skoda's performance-oriented Octavia RS is preparing for a return to the Indian market. The upcoming Skoda model has been spotted in India, following its India debut at the Auto Expo 2025. As with previous iterations, the 2025 Skoda Octavia RS is set to be offered in India as a completely built unit (CBU), likely in limited numbers or batches, just like the Volkswagen Golf GTI.

Powering the Octavia RS is a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine belting out over 261 bhp and 370 Nm of torque. It comes mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch (DSG) automatic transmission. The performance sedan can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 6.6 seconds, with a top speed of 250 kmph. Bearing the RS tag, it gets a 15 mm lower ride height compared to the standard model and an electronic limited-slip differential on the front axle. Additionally, a sportier exhaust setup with black-finished tailpipes is offered as standard.
While the overall profile remains identical to the regular Octavia, the RS variant distinguishes itself with a number of styling upgrades. These include a blacked-out butterfly grille, matrix LED headlamps with updated DRLs, redesigned front air intakes, and the new two-dimensional Skoda and RS emblems. Customers will also have access to fresh colour options and alloy wheel designs.

The Octavia RS has built a strong fan following in India. Given the popularity of the nameplate and the upgrades in this generation, the 2025 model is expected to attract similar interest. As for its price, we expect it to be north of Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom) while its launch could happen around the festive season.
