Range
Ather Energy says that the S340 electric scooter can have a range of approximately 60 kilometres on single charge. The scooter gets a 'battery management system' which monitors the overall status of the battery and the range it offers. The battery is water and dust proof and sits underneath the floorboard for a low centre of gravity.

Motor
The Ather S340 gets a 5kW brushless DC electric motor which churns out about 6.4 bhp and 14 Nm of peak torque, more than any other regular, petrol powered scooter sold in India. The scooter has a top speed of 72 kmph and the company says that a 0-40 kmph sprint is done in about five seconds or so. This means that you will need to register the scooter and also have a valid driving license to ride it as well.
