Auto Sales 2022: Audi Delivers 1,765 Cars In Jan-June

- Audi delivers 1,765 cars in first half of 2022
- Posts sales growth of 49 per cent year on year
- A8 facelift the company's next launch in India
Audi has announced its sales performance for the first half of 2022. The company announced that it has delivered 1,765 new cars in the current calendar year – a growth of 49 per cent over 2021. The carmaker said that the growth in sales had come on the back of its new model introductions including the Q5 and the Q7 facelift. The carmaker had delivered 1,181 units in the same six-month period from January to June last year. Audi had recorded a 101 per cent growth in sales in the last calendar year in India with the current number already placing overall sales at a little more than half of 2021’s 3,293 units.

Mr. Balbir Singh Dhillon, Head of Audi India, said, “The first six months of 2022 have seen a healthy sales growth of 49%. We continue to lead the charge with our electric vehicles - the Audi e-tron 50 and 55, the Audi e-tron Sportback and Audi e-tron GT range. Our petrol-powered portfolio including the Audi Q5, Audi Q7, Audi A4 and Audi A6 are doing good numbers and our S/RS models continue to shine with a strong order bank for 2022. We are now all geared to launch our flagship sedan, the Audi A8 L in India on July 12, 2022.”

Audi said that it also had a healthy order bank for its current model line-up though the carmaker did not provide a number.
Audi’s sales numbers have continued to grow over the last year as the carmaker has continued to expand and update its model line-up. The carmaker had halted sales of a majority of its line-up at the time of the implementation of the BS6 emission norms in 2020. 2022 also mark’s Audi’s 15th year in India with the company having introduced complementary extended warranty cover of 5 years unlimited km across all its model range since June 2022. The company has also been expanding in the used car space with new Audi Approved centres opening in the country.
