Benelli 150cc Bike Revealed; Will Come to India Soon

Benelli has already revealed 5 products in India and we all know that they are set to bring in some more this year. In fact expanding their dealership network is on priority for them and they recently opened up a dealership in Delhi.
We know that Motowheels wants to get into the mass market motorcycles segment and the partnership with Benelli will help them in achieving that goal. Well, Benelli has revealed the 150cc TNT 15 in Indonesia and we'll soon see it here.
Knowing Benelli's intentions for entering such a segment, the TNT 15 looks like the ideal bike to take up the challenge to bike makers like Bajaj and Yamaha. When asked about the TNT 15, a company spokesperson said, "We are looking to bring in small displacement bikes to India and that has always been part of our plan. The TNT 15 is one of the bikes we have planned for India."
The 2015 Benelli TNT 15 is powered by a 148cc, single-cylinder, 4-stroke, 2-valve, air-cooled petrol engine mated to a 5-speed gearbox. One look at the bike and you notice that it looks muscular and comes with a pilot lamp on the chin of the headlamp. The fuel tank too is sculpted to bring out that muscular feel and there is also a side mounted conventional exhaust which is painted in dark grey.

Then there is the digital and analogue speedometer and an LED tail lamp. It's got the looks but it will not make its way to India so soon because currently all the bikes sold in India by Benelli, take the CKD route and bringing the TNT15 via the CBU or CKD route would add to the price of the bike. "Localisation has been on the top of our agenda and we plan to go from 30 to 80 per cent with it. Once we are ready, the TNT15 will make its way to India" the company spokesperson said.
The TNT 25 is already on its way and will be the most affordable bike from the Benelli stable but with the launch of the TNT15, all that will change. There is no set date for the launch of the bike yet but we feel that the company will plan to boost local content soon and bring the bike out by 2016.
