Exclusive: Big Demand For Lamborghini Urus In India; Waiting Period Extends To 9 Months

The Lamborghini Urus was launched in India in January 2018 and this came after just 38 days of the global reveal of the car. The company's first Sports SUV has since then grabbed attention of the people here and the first lot of cars allotted for the country were already sold just days after the car was launched in the country. Lamborghini has had to cater to the global demand of the car and hence India's allocation has been less. However, customers are still lining up for their cars and the Urus now commands a waiting period of 9 months and yes, there are customers willing to wait for that long.

Speaking exclusively with carandbike, Sharad Agarwal, Head of Lamborghini India said “Today, it's (the Urus) on nine months waiting in India and you can tell that's it's all driven by the supply from our production plant because and we have had a similar demand and waiting periods across the globe, it's been very challenging to get the cars at the pace at which the customers want them,”

The Urus is the first car with a turbo in Lamborghini's long line of cars
At Rs. 3 crore, the Lamborghini Urus SUV is quite actually offers you the bragging rights to own the world's fastest SUV (top-speed 305 kmph), which can accommodate 5 passengers, offering all the comfort and entertainment features. No wonder, the waiting line's getting longer.
It's pretty practical too with a considerable boot space of 616 litres with all the seats up and about 1600 litres with the rear seats down. Being a Lamborghini, the Urus SUV also gets a host of sporty functions like - adaptive air suspension, active damping, four-wheel drive and four-wheel steering among others.

The Lamborghini Urus can accommodate 5 individuals
The Lamborghini Urus SUV is powered by a new 4.0-litre V8 twin-turbo engine, a first turbo in the automaker's history. The turbocharged engine produces about 641 bhp and develops a massive 850 Nm of peak torque, while the motor comes mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The SUV also comes with a central torsion differential 4 Wheel Drive with torque vectoring rear differential. As for performance figures, the Lamborghini Urus goes from 0-100 kmph in 3.6-seconds before the top speed of 305 kmph. The Lamborghini Urus also comes with immense braking power thanks to the special Carboceramics Disc Brakes, which allow the car to decelerate from 100-0 kmph within 33.7 metres.
