BMW 7 Series Facelift Likely To Arrive In Early 2019

The current generation BMW 7 Series was launched globally in 2015 and is all set to receive a mid-life cycle refresh next year. According to a report by BMW Blog, the German auto giant is working on the updated BMW 7 Series facelift that will subtle cosmetic upgrades and a revised engine line-up as well. The 7 Series facelift is expected to make its global by the end of this year while the model will be made available internationally by March 2019. The updated BMW 7 Series has also been spied testing and the images give a fair idea of what changes should we expect from the Bavarian auto giant's grand saloon (until the 8 Series arrives).

Spy shots reveal the 2019 BMW 7 Series facelift test mule with camouflaged front and rear. Expect tweaks to the grille, headlamp, and bumper while the rear bumper and taillight will also see changes. We expect to see a large and wider iteration of the kidney grille on the 7 Series facelift, while the overall styling won't change dramatically from the current model.
On the inside, changes are expected to the dashboard along with an updated infotainment system and a fully digital instrument console. Already loaded with tech wizardry, expect the 2019 BMW 7 Series facelift to please you more on that front. It'll be interesting to see if BMW manages to add more features to that very interesting touchscreen equipped key fob.

Major changes are expected under the hood of the BMW 7 Series facelift. The report further suggests that an updated version of 3.0-litre in-line, six-cylinder engine will power the entry-level 740i variant with 335 bhp, an upgrade from the current 320 bhp on offer. The 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine will also have power uprated to 465 bhp, up from the present 445 bhp. In addition, the 7 Series plug-in hybrid version will see its combined power output from the petrol and electric motor tweaked to 390 bhp; a healthy hike from the present 322 bhp. The 740e plug-in hybrid will also get higher capacity batteries for an enhanced driving range.

The BMW 7 Series facelift will come well within time to compete against the other German rivals in this segment. Mercedes-Benz has already updated the W222 S-Class globally and the model will be coming to India at the upcoming Auto Expo. Meanwhile, Audi has revealed the new generation A8 and will be coming to India later this year. You can expect the BMW 7 Series facelift to come to India by the end of 2019.
