BMW R 1300 GS, R 1400 GS, M 1300 GS Models Expected For 2023

- New liquid-cooled boxer engine likely to debut on BMW R 1300 GS
- First liquid-cooled engine for BMW Motorrad's famed ADV line-up
- BMW M 1300 GS is expected to be top-spec model
BMW Motorrad seems to have inadvertently let slip the news of at least three new models which will be launched in 2023. The three models include the upcoming BMW R 1300 GS, BMW R 1400 GS, and a new BMW M 1300 GS. The leaked information was spotted on a BMW Service website which contained information to request service on machines named R 1300 GS, R 1400 GS and M 1300 GS. This is not the first time we have heard of a new 1300 model line-up. In fact, last year, we had seen spy shots of an upcoming GS model, tipped to be the new BMW R 1300 GS, the first model to be powered by a new liquid-cooled engine.

The BMW R 1300 GS is likely to get a new liquid-cooled engine
While details are still scarce about the upcoming models, a larger displacement GS was known to be in the making for some time now, with reports of trademark filings for a M 1300 GS model. The M model will likely feature more tech, including radar-powered cruise control, like the system on the current BMW R 1200 RT, to take on the likes of the Ducati Multistrada V4S. The current BMW R 1250 GS already introduced BMW's ShiftCam variable valve system, so a more advanced and refined version of the system is likely to be introduced in the new liquid-cooled big boxer.
The question that remains is when we get to see the new models in production form. BMW has made it clear that the German brand will not be participating in Europe's biggest motorcycle show events, so the new model range will likely be announced at one of BMW Motorrad's own events, possibly as early as the mid-2022.
