Bounce Partners With Park+ To Set Up Over 3,500 Battery Swapping Stations In India

- Bounce aims to have battery swapping stations in a gap of 1 km
- Users can swap discharged batteries for new ones in under a minute
- Bounce will invest $100 million in the EV business in 2022
Bengaluru-based smart mobility solutions company Bounce has announced its partnership with Park+ to expand its battery swapping stations network to over 3,500 outlets across 10 cities in India. Park+ is a mobile app for car users and allows them to discover, book, and pay for parking slots. The strategic partnership arrives just days before Bounce is all set to introduce the Infinity electric scooter on December 2, 2021. As part of the Bounce and Park+ partnership, Infinity scooter owners will be able to locate battery swapping stations on either the Bounce app or Park+ app at residential societies, key parking spaces, malls, corporate offices, among other locations.

Commenting on the partnership, Vivekananda Hallakere, Co-Founder & CEO, Bounce, said, "Our objective is to have our battery swapping stations to be within one kilometre of wherever you are and to enable this we have partnered with Park+. This partnership is in line with our effort to build a battery swapping infrastructure for a million+ scooters in the next 24 months."

The Bounce Infinity electric scooter will be launched on December 2, 2021
Speaking about the partnership, Amit Lakhotia, Founder & CEO, Park+, said, "Park+ is on a mission to revolutionise automotive users' experience through a technology-enabled ecosystem of solutions. Tomorrow's automotive scene will be driven by EVs because of their advantages across the board. The absence of charging infrastructure is the biggest roadblock holding back widespread EV proliferation. We are committed to scaling up charging infrastructure at a rapid pace through our network of solutions across corporate parks, shopping malls and residential apartments."
The Bounce Infinity electric scooter marks the company's first offering as it enters the B2C electric scooter segment. The model will be sold with a removable battery or with the 'Battery as a service' option. The latter lowers the acquisition cost of the scooter with the battery available via any of the company's swapping stations on a pay as you use basis.
The Bounce battery swapping stations will have charged and ready-to-go batteries that customers can easily swap with their near-empty batteries in under a minute, the With this infrastructure in place, customers wouldn't have to wait for the scooter to charge, curbing range anxiety, the company said in a statement.
