- Scooters will use Bounce's battery swapping technology
Logistics start-up, Howdyy has entered into a partnership with Bounce Share, the EV rental arm of Bounce, for last-mile delivery services. Under the partnership, the two companies will deploy over 10,000 electric scooters onto Indian roads over the next two years for Howdyy's delivery service. The scooters will come equipped with Bounce's battery swapping technology and will be deployed across five cities – Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai and Hyderabad.
Speaking on this partnership, Aashirwad Deshmukkh, Founder and CEO of Howdyy, said “We are thrilled to partner with Bounce for this strategic collaboration. Their esteemed market presence will help us in covering the last-mile delivery space in at least five cities. Howdyy entered the logistics service in 2020 with the company's vision being to push the use of electric vehicles in mid-mile and last-mile deliveries. Aside from promoting the use of EVs in last-mile delivery services, the partnership also aims to create as many as 20,000 new jobs for delivery persons across the five cities.

Commenting on the tie-up, Anil G, Co-Founder and COO, Bounce, said,'' With fuel prices rising and increase in carbon emission, it is high time for the logistics industry in India to focus on contributing to sustainable mobility. Our partnership with Howdyy is one step forward to making the planet greener and cleaner by providing smart sustainable mobility solutions to delivery personnel.”
Battery Swapping technology helps reduce the wait time for charging electric vehicles with riders just requiring swapping out batteries with a charged pack from designated swapping stations. This is said to reduce the wait times required to charge EVs from a few hours to just a few minutes.
