The BS IV Royal Enfield Himalayan deliveries have finally commenced across India. Earlier, the company had suspended the sales of the Royal Enfield Himalayan temporarily as the bike did not meet the BS IV emission norms which came into effect from 1 April, 2017. There are no mechanical changes on the BS IV Himalayan except the fact that the engine is now fuel-injected as opposed to the earlier carburetted version. With the fuel-injected engine, the pet-cock is also missing on the BS IV Himalayan.

The Royal Enfield bike still gets the same 411 cc long-stroke engine which makes 24 bhp at 6,500 rpm and churns out a peak torque of 32 Nm at 4,250 rpm. The bike still gets a 5-speed gearbox and still is the only purpose built ADV within a price bracket of Rs. 2 lakh. The bookings of the Royal Enfield Himalayan bike had already begun a few months ago.

The BS IV Royal Enfield Himalayan has been priced at Rs. 1, 60,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi).The on-road price of the RE Himalayan is Rs. 1, 83,737. The bike was launched in March 2016. The bike caught flak for having quality issues but the company has worked upon them since. The Himalayan still does not get ABS, something that could have been added on the BS IV update of the Himalayan.
