Bugatti and Palmer Johnson to Make Luxury Yacht Called Niniette

Bugatti, maker of the world's fastest production car, and Palmer Johnson, the biggest name in the yacht making industry, are combining forces to create a series of yachts called 'Niniette'. Lots of carbon fibre will be used besides other high-strength, low weight materials and the yachts will also feature design elements from French carmaker Bugatti's older designs. The company founder, Ettore Bugatti, first developed racing boats and yachts back in the 1930s.

The moniker 'Niniette' can be traced back to the Bugatti's pet name for his daughter, Lidia. The range of yachts is set to include the 42-foot long PJ42, 63-foot long PJ63, and the top-of-the-line 88-foot long PJ88 Niniette.

The Niniette will incorporate Bugatti's motto of 'Art, Forme, and Technique'. The shape of the carbon fibre hull is indicative of Palmer Johnson's SuperSport series whereas its design language in general is based on classic Bugattis like the Type 57 C Atalante and Type 41 Royale. Besides its elegant design, the yacht will also be able to attain a top speed of 38 knots (approximately 70Km/h).

"The Palmer Johnson Niniette is the result of a maverick vision to perfect that delicate alchemy between desire and demand. Both Palmer Johnson and Bugatti share deeply held core values of reaching for what we cannot see, of reaching high to deliver the next unimagined experience, of always distancing ourselves from the herd," says Timur Mohamed, owner of Palmer Johnson. "We are proud to be able to use Bugatti's name and design DNA for our exciting new model line," he added.
Prices for the smallest PJ42 Niniette start at around 2 million Euros whereas the base model of the mid-sized PJ63 will set you back a cool 3.25 million Euros. The yachts will be made to order and are expected to take a year to be produced.
