In a proud moment for India and the carandbike family, our Editor-in-Chief Siddharth Vinayak Patankar has been appointed as the Vice-Chairman of the World Car Awards! A popular face on television and news, Siddharth, brings two decades of experience in covering the finance and auto sector, while also presenting news on primetime television.

“Given his long service as a member of the World Car Awards Steering Committee and his leadership role as producer and co-host of World Car TV, Siddharth was a natural choice for Vice-Chairman of the 2022 World Car Awards,” said Gerry Malloy, President, World Car of the Year Awards Association.
Siddharth conceived several automotive properties for a national television news network including the famed 'The Car & the Bike Show', Freewheeling, A Very Ferrari Summer, CNB Bazaar Buzz, Mahindra Auto Quotient, as well as the carandbike awards.
He joined the World Car Awards jury in 2010 and was inducted to the steering committee as a director in 2015, becoming the first Asian to do so. He then became the Executive Director in 2019 and is now the Vice Chairman.

The World Car Awards (WCA) are among the most prestigious and highest honours given to auto manufacturers across the globe. It is the mission of the WCA comprising over 90 global jurors to recognise, reward and inspire automotive excellence, leadership and innovation. The World Car Awards were inaugurated in 2003 and officially launched in January 2004 to reflect the reality of the global marketplace. The Cision Insight's 2021 media report hold the annual World Car Awards programme as the number one in the world for the ninth consecutive year in terms of media reach and analysis across 25 top global markets. Siddharth also initiated World Car TV in 2020 on YouTube showcasing the World Car Awards nominees in detail.
