Deal Alert: Outgoing Hyundai Elantra Is Good Value

- Discounts of up to Rs. 1.5 lakh on the current gen Elantra on offer
- The new generation Elantra will launch next month
- The prices for the Elantra start at Rs. 17 lakh
We have already told you that the new 6th generation Hyundai Elantra will launch next month. We have also already posted our exclusive review of the new generation Elantra for you. At the time we told you we think the 5th generation car is still very contemporary, better looking and well loaded with features. So here's the good news. As Hyundai India starts to unwind the last gen car to prepare for the next one, dealers are happy for you to take their Elantra stock off their hands. On-road pricing on the current car starts at Rs. 17 lakh for the petrol and Rs. 18 lakh for the diesel Elantra (on-road Delhi). Now throw in a Rs 1.5 lakh cash discount incentive that Hyundai is offering plus an exchange bonus of up to Rs. 50,000, and the price drops a steep Rs 2 lakh - making the Elantra quite the hot offering.
(Hyundai Elantra 5th generation)Offers from dealers across the country have one thing in common - the Rs. 1.5 lakh cash discount, but we have found that in Noida the discount amount can go up to Rs. 2.4 lakh too, albeit not on the top variant. Hyundai dealers in Bengaluru are offering a Rs. 1 lakh cash discount though, but are also giving free insurance for 3 years/60000 kms. While most of the dealers told us that the offer was only for this month, we expect this offer to continue till stocks last. Polar White seems to be the fastest available colour option. Dealers in Noida told us that the Mystique Blue colour was out of stock, while dealerships in Pune and Mumbai say cars are available in whichever colour you'd like, and it would take 25 days for delivery. A dealer in north India has shared with CarAndBike that production of the 5th gen Elantra has stopped to make way for the new one.
Now if you are worried that the old model is way too outdated, don't fret. The outgoing car is available with 1.8-litre, DOHC petrol and 1.6-litre, CRDi diesel engine options with a six-speed manual or automatic transmission on offer. Safety features includes 6 airbags, ESP, VSM, ABS + EBD and Hill-Start Assist, while the extensive feature list sees the likes of ventilated front seats, reverse camera, dual-zone climate control, projector headlamps etc. So while a new generation car no doubt carries its own appeal, we do recommend the outgoing Elantra as a great deal, worthy of snapping up in a hurry!
