Ducati 959 Panigale Corse Edition To Be Launched Soon
Highlights
- Traditionally, The Corse edition of any Ducati bike is a limited edition
- This means that the 959 Panigale Corse might be a limited edition as well
- The 959 Panigale Corse might get updated equipment and new colours
It was about time for Ducati to introduce a Corse edition of the 959 Panigale. What led us to believe so? The Italian motorcycle manufacturer has submitted certification documents with the California Air Resources Board (CARB) in USA which says that the Ducati 959 Panigale Corse Edition is on its way to the market. The last time Ducati introduced a Corse edition for one of its motorcycles was the 848 Evo Corse, launched in 2013. Needless to say, the 848 Evo Corse got a few updates over the regular 848 and we could expect the same as well.
The documents submitted with CARB show that the Ducati 959 Panigale Corse will be powered by the same 955 cc L-twin superquadro desmodromic engine, which makes 148 bhp and 102 Nm of peak torque. The engine might be re-tuned to make more power and torque. Apart from that, expect the 959 Panigale Corse to get upgraded equipment which might be better brakes, suspension units, exhaust and so on. Expect the 959 Panigale Corse to get a more electronics as well. The upgrades might also include a new colour scheme as well. Again, as is the case with all Ducati Corse models, the company will make the 959 Panigale Corse in limited numbers. Some reports suggest that the company is already looking beyond the 959 Panigale as it nears its life cycle.
The 959 Panigale Corse will be introduced as a 2018 model year and as of now there is no concrete timeline hinting at a launch date or an unveil date. As far as the model coming to India, it is too early to say anything, but we are keeping our fingers crossed.
