Ducati Scrambler Nightshift Recalled In USA Over Turn Signals Issue

- 2021 Ducati Scrambler Nightshift recalled in USA
- About 228 units of the motorcycle have been recalled as well
- The recall is only for the North American market as of now
Ducati North America has issued a recall for about 228 units of the Scrambler Nightshift in USA. These motorcycles were assembled at the Ducati Motor production plant with the incorrect front and rear turn indicators. The front and rear turn signals do not guarantee 'effective projected luminous lens area requirements' as prescribed by the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards or FMVSS. This could result is low visibility, particularly at night and can increase the risk of a crash. Ducati dealers in North America have already been alerted and they will rectify the incorrect turn signals, free of charge, for all owners.

The new Ducati Scrambler Nightshift replaces the Scrambler Cafe Racer and Full Throttle variants in India and globally as well. The Scrambler Nightshift is essentially a blend of the two models, and sports a cafe racer styled seat, wide Aluminium handlebar, rather than cafe racer-styled clip-ons, and a chopped front mud-guard. The rear mud-guard has been completely done away with. The 803 cc, L-twin, two-valve engine is finished in black and puts out 73 bhp at 8,250 rpm and 66.2 Nm of peak torque at 5,750 rpm. The Nighshift is equipped with Pirelli MT60 tyres with spoked wheels.

The Nightshift sports a narrow Aluminium handlebar, rather than cafe racer clip-ons, which offer an aggressive yet friendly riding position. The turn indicators are mounted on the stub behind the seat. The Nightshift gets LED DRL, LED taillight, and a LCD instrument panel with gear and fuel level indicator. Bosch cornering ABS is standard, and Brembo supplies the brake callipers. When dry, the motorcycle weighs 180 kg. In India, the Scrambler Nightshift is priced at Rs. 9.80 lakh (ex-showroom).
