All-electric ride-hailing platform BluSmart says that the company crossed the 16 million mark for emissions-free kilometres. The milestone was announced on the occasion of World Environment Day 2021 and was achieved from over five lakh zero-emission trips in Delhi-NCR. The start-up says that its 100 per cent mobility platform has so far reduced the CO2 levels up to 68 gm/km, and over 1000 tonnes of CO2 since operations began on June 4, 2019. The company presently operates only in Delhi-NCR.

Commenting on the new milestone, Anmol Jaggi, Co-Founder and CEO, BluSmart Mobility said, "We believe that all of us have our responsibilities towards mother nature and that we need to adopt sustainable practices so as to minimize the burden on the very environment where we exist. BluSmart aims to provide customers with no surge rides which are clean, safe, and sanitized. As we expand our service further, we will make travel hassle-free and environment friendly for our existing and new customers as well. Our ultimate motive is to keep the environment clean and green."

BluSmart recently inducted women drivers in its fleet who will operate from the Delhi International airport
BluSmart has pledged to further restore the ecosystem and keep the environment clean and green. The company launched a referral program last year where BluSmart planted a tree for each referral it received through customers. The company's all-electric fleet also prevents contributing particulates, carbon monoxide and PM 2.5 and PM 5 emissions that are otherwise emitted from ICE vehicles.
More recently, BluSmart also announced the induction of female drivers into the company. The first batch of women driver-partners is currently onboarded to drive from the BluSmart hub at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport. In the interest of safety, the company will offer them an eight-hour lease period only during the daytime. BluSmart says it plans to add 500 women drivers in the first year and aims to take this number to 50 per cent of the total driver-partner base eventually.
