It's no secret that cricketer MS Dhoni is a massive petrolhead. The sports icon has an envious collection of cars and motorcycles in his garage and every addition creates news in its own way. And the latest addition to the Dhoni garage is a special example of the Yamaha RD 350. Dhoni is a big fan of the motorcycle and already has quite a few in his collection. That's why restoration expert from Mysore, Syed Jadeer, reached out to Mahi through a common connection to show him this motorcycle. The bike has been built by Syed and his team and was handed over to the ace cricketer recently.

The gold-finished Yamaha RD 350 was taken to MS Dhoni's farmhouse to showcase the team's craftsmanship. You can also spot his Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk & Mercedes-Benz GLC in the pictures
In an exclusive conversation with carandbike, Syed detailed how the motorcycle builders ended up at Dhoni's farmhouse in Ranchi, Jharkhand, with the two Yamaha RD 350s. The pictures of the same have been going viral for a few days now but only one was handed over to Dhoni himself.
As Syed puts it, "First, let me clarify that there are many posts saying that 2 RD 350s were delivered to MS Dhoni, which is not true. Only one RD 350 Competition Green colour was delivered to MS Dhoni."

The gold-finished Yamaha RD 350 now carries MS Dhoni's signature on the fuel tank
Meanwhile, the gold-finished Yamaha RD 350 was another build by Syed and his team at Wyldcatzbikes and was taken along to show their craftsmanship to the Chennai Super Kings player. Pleasantly, the gold RD 350 now carries Dhoni's autograph on the fuel tank, which Syed says makes it a priceless bike in his collection. The cricketer can also be seen signing a few posters and posing with Syed and his team at his Ranchi home.

So, how did the process of handing over the bike to Dhoni come about? Syed says the cricketer got in touch with them after learning about this custom RD 350 through a close friend. The bike wasn't originally built for Mahi but was an independent project taken up by Syed.

This Yamaha RD 350 has been built to the US specification, which is drastically different from the Indian Rajdoot specification. All the parts were either sourced locally from India and the build process took nearly a year with six months of actual build time. Syed says the bike was restored from the ground up comprising a mechanical and engine overhaul, chrome detailing and more.

While this was a fully built bike handed over to Dhoni, Syed and his team hope to work on a special build for the cricketer soon
The all-new paint scheme is called Competition Green and looks fantastic with the white contrast that lends a rich tone to the motorcycle. Syed says Dhoni's passion for automobiles is simply spellbinding and hopes to get a chance to work on a special build for the cricketer.
