Fabulous Car Models That Bowed Out in 2021

There are many cars that have neared the conclusion of their production cycles by the end of 2021. Here are some popular and fabulous models that are bowing out with the onset of the New Year, especially in the American market.
Mazda CX-3

This one needs no introduction! The end of production for the famous CX-3 was confirmed by the PR manager at Mazda Poland, Szymon Soltysik, who stated that the company was almost finished in taking customer bookings. The last European market units have been manufactured in December, 2021. The CX-3 lost traction with the launch of the Mazda CX-30, ending up with lower sales volumes. Just 8,000 units were retailed in 2020 by the company.
Hyundai Veloster

Hyundai initially stated that a few versions would be discontinued while the non-N variants would continue. However, the company has now changed its strategy, meaning that the Veloster will be bowing out in 2022. Just 6,785 units were sold in the year 2020 and from 2022 onwards, just the N variant will be available. The Ultimate, Premium and R-Spec variants will all be discontinued.
Lamborghini Aventador

This is possibly the biggest icon in the whole list! The Lamborghini Aventador was the worthy follow-up to the Lamborghini Murcielago and arrived in 2010. Now, Lamborghini will be saying goodbye to the supercar, planning a fully hybrid or electric line-up in the future. The final Aventador or the LP780-4 Ultimae was made as a tribute by Lamborghini and it has already been sold out. Just 600 units were created anyway.
Polestar 1

Volvo owns this Swedish performance car brand and it launched in 2019 with an exorbitant price tag. The hybrid powertrain with its rear axle electric motor made things slightly complex as well. The Polestar 1 will fade out now with the portfolio just containing the Polestar 2.
Volkswagen Passat

The stately Passat will be phased out after the model year 2022. Volkswagen still thought of unveiling a limited edition for commemorating its factory at Chattanooga, Tennessee, which has produced the Passat since the year 2011. The discontinuation comes on the back of underwhelming sales figures and stiff competition from the Honda Accord and Hyundai Sonata. The Passat will also be discontinued throughout Europe.
Lotus Evora and Elise

These two models will be replaced by new-generation sports cars with lightweight bodies as per the CEO of the company. The first one could be the new Lotus Emira or Type 131.
Volvo V60 and V90

These are two other biggies in the list and American customers sparingly bought these two luxury wagons, leading to lackluster sales figures overall. The V90 was only available sometime earlier for special orders and only had all-wheel drive (T6) and front-wheel drive (T5) versions. The V60 nameplate will also bid adieu although its T8 plug-in hybrid mill will be used for the Volvo Cross Country.
