2022 Ford Everest Global Debut Date Announced

- Global debut on March 1.
- Could have 2.0 litre twin-turbo diesel & 3.0 litre turbo V6 diesel.
- On Sale in second half of 2022 in Australia and other markets.
Though most of us know this SUV as Ford Endeavour, internationally, this model has been sold under the name of Ford Everest, and Ford plans on unveiling the 2022 Ford Everest on March 1 globally. While Ford is yet to officially release details about the SUV, we know that it will be based largely on the Ford Ranger pick-up truck unveiled earlier. The Everest won't be launched in the USA however, where Ford's sales are mostly dominated by the smaller Bronco SUV, but will cater to Australia and South-East Asian markets, and possibly even India. Although Ford India has ceased manufacturing and sales operations, the brand is expected to make a comeback, but only with completely built-up units (CBUs), which are full imports.

The Ford Everest will be based on Ford's T6.2 platform, which is an updated version of the T6 platform that underpinned the outgoing car. This body-on-frame chassis will also be larger stronger than before, and we can expect the wheelbase and width figures to increase by about 50 mm.

The car could also come loaded with features like a digital instrument cluster, large 10.2 or 12.0 inch infotainment screens with connected car tech, and a large sun-roof. However, all these features may not be available throughout every variant, as Ford says it will offer a "range of models to suit your next adventure".

Ford Ranger's interior likely to be carried forward to the Everest
Ford is expected to power this SUV with an updated version of its current 2.0 litre twin-turbo diesel engine with major revisions to the 10-speed auto-transmission, while a new 3.0 litre turbo-charged V6 diesel could also be on offer. Though the Ranger Raptor awaits its announcement, it isn't certain if we will see a more powerful Everest soon.

Ford Everest is expected to go on sale globally in the second-half of 2022, and even though Ford has stopped production of new cars in India, we could see a CBU imported version of the Endeavour in our markets, with the prices of its rivals creeping up in the absence of the beloved 3-row SUV.
