Honda Cars India to Expand its Rajasthan Plant's Production Capacity

Honda Cars India Limited (HCIL), today, announced an investment of Rs 380 crore in its Tapukara, Alwar, Rajasthan based plant to increase its annual production capacity. With this investment, the company aims to increase the capacity to 1,80,000 units/month from the current 1,20,000 units.

    Honda Cars India Limited (HCIL), today, announced an investment of Rs 380 crore in its Tapukara, Alwar, Rajasthan based plant to increase its annual production capacity. With this investment, the company aims to increase the capacity to 1,80,000 units/month from the current 1,20,000 units. The additional capacity will be ready by middle of 2016. The capacity expansion will generate employment for about 600 people in Tapukara plant.

    The additional capacity will take Honda Cars India's overall annual production capacity to 3,00,00 units from the current, 2,40,000. Just so you know, the company's great noida facility has an annual production capacity of 1,20,000 units.

    HCIL's Tapukara plant started its operations in February 2014 with annual production capacity of 1,20,000. The plant integrates various functions such as forging, casting, stamping, powertrain components production, welding, painting, resin molding, engine assembly, and frame assembly. The plant also has an engine testing facility.
